‘I think I hurt my back on the Rowing Machine in the gym yesterday.’
‘I saw you in the gym yesterday and you seemed fine after the work out.’
‘No, I was, but I think I hurt myself on the Rowing Machine.’
‘Do you remember hurting yourself on the Rowing Machine?’
‘No.’
‘Was it sore after you got off the Rowing Machine?’
‘No.’
‘Was it sore when you got home?’
‘No.’
‘How did you sleep last night?’
‘Grand, but it was sore in the morning.’
‘I think your back is very stiff and I think it is that, combined with being sore from the workout on the Rowing Machine that is what is causing you pain.’
‘Really? I dunno, I think I hurt myself on the Rowing Machine.’
‘I will give you some exercises to do to help loosen your back.’
‘OK.’
I gave the client the three simple exercises I shared in my blog, ‘Psoas stupid’.
Next day at gym:
‘How is your back today?’
‘Fine. The stretches helped.’
‘Great to hear it. What do you plan to do today?’
‘I think I’ll use the rowing machine today!’
